Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part Two

  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You generally lay a wager ($1 is the usual amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are particularly tempting, they’re also particularly hard to win. You might need to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, picture this- you wager twenty hands and make the side bet each time. That is $20 you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the complete casino edge from 2% with a single zero wheel to a huge five% in American. The one number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much lower casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the casino advantage can be a huge twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a typo. Because of the huge amount of numbers you must pick, it isn’t recommended to play Keno very much. A couple of times for fun, maybe. But do not spend all your money on it or you will quickly find yourself beaten.
