Uk Bettors are a Third of All European Net Gamblers

The internet gambling market in the UK has doubled in five years, with in excess of a million gamblers regularly wagering by the web. According to a poll conducted by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, UK gamblers make up approximately one-third of Europe’s estimated total of 3 300 000 net bettors.

The average cash figure bet by each gamer is approximated at £1,000, with the European business now valued at £3.5bn annually.

The Gov’t in the United Kingdom is hoping to introduce rules and a tax system to control the operating of the internet gaming business. With such regulatory framework in place, internet gaming activities would be observed and the business will acquire even greater penetration in the in the years to come.
